These products allow the distribution of video, remote control of PC's and
laptops to be implemented inexpensively over existing CAT5/5E cabling. Customers can choose to
control a PC, Laptop or Server from up to 300' feet away using PS/2 or USB keyboard and mouse
control either with or without VGA video.
For video distribution the customer has the option of a passive unit (83-11349) which allows
extending up to 300' at resolutions up to 1,280 X 1,024 pixels or an active unit (83-11350)
which allows extending up to 1000' at resolutions up to 1,280 X 1,024 pixels.
These products are designed to be small using metal outer construction and are easily
mountable in a secure location or a server closet. The active units include both gain control
and dip switches for maximum monitor compatibility. Standard UTP or STP Cat5/5E cabling can be
used to make installation even easier. These solutions make running bulky VGA cables obsolete
and when used with Plenum Cat5/5E cables, they make meeting fire codes even easier.
